Toys
Sometimes I write little Javascript pages just to keep myself amused; sometimes they are for some specific purpose and sometimes they are just extensions of some idea I've had. Either way, here are some of them. I make no claim to multiple browser compatibility. Hell, Half of these barely work in a single browser! If you find something which doesn't work then just remember that you're probably not missing anything special.

LEASE TAKE NOTE: A lot of these toys use JavaScript image preloading. If you have your browser set to check for new versions of files every time a page loads then this breaks the preloading and the images have to be loaded every time they are displayed. This will break many of these toys (and result in thousands of calls to the server,) so please turn that off if you want to play. (In IE, go to Internet Options, then click the Settings button in the Temporary Internet Files section. Select Automatic.)

ost of these toys are interactive in some way, this is usually because I write them to amuse myself. I don't know if they will have the same effect on you but hopefully you'll find them mildly entertaining.
Sudoku (IE/FF) Instead of solving SuDoku puzzles I decided to write a page to do it for me, thereby removing all of the fun!
Carriers (IE) A game where you have to direct little coloured balls around in order to collect smaller coloured balls.
Flipflops This started out as a vague thought on the subject of counting in binary.
D'ni transcriber A geeky page for transcribing the language from the Myst books and games.
Clock (IE) It's a simple toy but it uses VML which is kind of geekily cool.
Morse Code Reader You can (for absolutely no good reason) learn and practice morse code here!
Bulbs A 'Worms' type of game but controlled with a mouse rather than keys.
Bouncy Bear (IE) A cute flingable teddy bear which you can pick up and shake violently.
Mouse Over A very simple toy with little lights which change when the mouse moves over them.

hysics is cool. I wrote some libraries for working out the forces between two point. These were some of the results. Objects which react to your mouse pointer and to each other.

es. The theme here is waves. I don't know why by all this stuff is just fasinating.
Waves (IE)
VML Wave (IE)
Another VML Wave (IE)
Wave Circle (IE)

s soon as I figured out that I could create vector object dynamically, I really couldn't help but create a 3D spinning object routine. It's a sickness. I can't help myself.
